Colgate's Will Delano and Lafayette's Tyler Ostrovsky were also considered for the monthly award.
Hall was the Mids top performer in each of Navy's first two tournaments of the year, while also playing an instrumental role in its 6-5 victory over Army in the annual Army-Navy Star Match held Sept. 25-26 at West Point. Making his collegiate debut, Hall turned in a 3-under par 139 at the Navy Fall Classic to place fourth and lead the Navy Gold squad to a fourth-place finish among 16 teams competing. He followed up that performance with a 9-over par 222 at the 54-hole Maryland Intercollegiate where he finished tied for 32nd. In the final match of the month, he paired up with junior Tim Shield (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.) to win one of the four four-ball matches in the annual Army-Navy Star Match. The Hall-Shield duo defeated Army team captain Matt Krembel and his teammate Ethan Johnson, 2 & 1. Navy went on to win four singles matches on the final day of competition to win the Star Match and claim the second N-Star of the year for Navy. With three tournaments and a dual match under his belt, Hall owns the

| NJGT MAKING NEWS IN MYRTLE BEACH |
|
| 11/16/2009 3:00:53 PM |
|
The Following is an excerpt for the Myrtle Beach Sun News
Saturday Nov. 14, 2009
Alan Blondin - Grand Strand Golf
Junior tour teeing off
Area junior golfers will have tournaments to keep them sharp throughout the winter with the creation of a Beach Tour presented by the National Junior Golf Tour.
The tour will stage approximately one tournament a month beginning with an 18-hole event Dec. 12 at Prestwick Country Club. Two-day events will follow at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club on Jan. 9-10, Myrtlewood Golf Club on Jan. 30-31, and Myrtle Beach National on Feb. 6-7. A NJGT event at Black Bear Golf Club a few weeks ago attracted approximately 40 juniors.
Conway residents James and Abbie Mishoe will serve as the local Beach Tour directors. "We can help that beginning golfer as well as the advanced golfer," said NJGT owner and director Allen Wiggins. "We're excited about being down there. We've been wanting to do something in that area, we just didn't have anybody I felt comfortable running it."
The NJGT is based in Gastonia, N.C., and has been running events for 10 years predominantly in North Carolina. The Grand Strand series is the tour's sixth, joining those in the Charleston and Greenville areas of South Carolina, and Charlotte, N.C., Triad (Greensboro/Winston-Salem), and Raleigh areas in North Carolina.
Wiggins said the tour next plans to expand to Savannah, Ga.-Hilton Head. "Once they join the series they can play in any area," Wiggins said.
The tour membership fee from June to June is $85. Events generally cost $95-105 for two-day tournaments and $55 for one-day events, though the Dunes Club event is $130. Costs include range balls and trophies, and player stats are maintained on the tour Web site.
Wiggins said the schedule will seldom conflict with South Carolina Junior Golf Association summer events. Each event will be ranked by the National Junior Scoreboard, and will be ranked by the SCJGA Heritage rankings with a minimum of 25 players.
The NJGT is not foreign to the area. The tour staged an event at Myrtlewood for four years early in its existence, and for the last five years its national championship has been held Labor Day weekend at Sea Trail Plantation in Sunset Beach, N.C. That event attracts about 200 participants annually and includes a parent-junior event. 36-hole tournament and banquet with season-ending awards.
The NJGT also operates a College Prep series from October through May, in which courses are set up longer and more difficult. One of those events was held last year at Grande Dunes, and upcoming events will be held at Kiawah Island in December, Pinehurst Resort in January, True Blue Plantation in February and Grande Dunes in May.

New things are happening at the National Junior Golf Tour. Take a look at this recent article from
The Sun News
Posted on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009
Cyndi Evans Graham: Local golf tour offers unique opportunity for juniors
I spent another great Sunday afternoon watching a golf tournament at Black Bear in Longs. It was a beautiful day and a proud day for me as a large group of my junior players were competing. There were three girls in the 18-hole division and only two girls in the modified division.
Pendleton Bogache and Lia Farrar are two of my students and I was equally proud of both of these young women. Pendleton has a bit more playing experience than Lia, but both were out there doing their very best. Lia and I had a great lesson on Saturday and with that, she hit some very good shots during the tournament. The entire Farrar family plays golf and giving Lia the skills she needs to enjoy the game for her lifetime is my major goal. With more experience and confidence, she will become more tournament savvy. Right now, I want her to enjoy the game.
I would love to see more girls and boys from our area participate in this organization. The National Junior Golf Tour (NJGT) was started in 1999 and now has nearly 1,000 members. Many of the tournaments offer state rankings for players 14 and older (25 players needed in that age group) and two-day events can also earn rankings on National Junior Scoreboard. All these links are on the NJGT Web site: nationaljuniorgolftour.com.

| National Junior golf club receives AJGA performance-based entry |

American Junior golf Association announces that the national Junior golf club will receive seven performance-based entries for 2009. The exemptions will be on the NJGC college prep series. We are exicitied to be working with AJGA performance-based entry system and look forward to working with the AJGA for years to come said Allen Wiggins National Tour Director for the NJGC college prep series. The first event will be at Pinehurst on January 18-19 on the great no.2 course (see schedule)http://www.nationaljuniorgolfclub.com/TourNews.aspx
Boys 14-18 Champions in the following tournments will receive: 1 Tournament Exemption

Boys 14-18 College Prep Series Point Champion: 1 Tournament Exemption
Boys 12-13 College Prep Series Point Champion: 1 Tournament Exemption
Girls 12-18 College Prep Series Point Champion: 1 Tournament Exemption
2009 Performance Based Entry
In 2003, the AJGA abandoned its tournament selection process that was based on the strength of a tournament application and resume in favor of a Performance Based Entry process. This enables 12-18-year-old members to earn their way into AJGA Open tournaments based on performances at the national, regional and state levels.
The entry process clearly defines and answers the question, "How do I gain entry into an AJGA event?" The player's performance, not the AJGA, dictates acceptance into an event. The expanded opportunities to gain entry into AJGA events through success at the state and regional levels ensure all deserving juniors receive an opportunity to play in an AJGA event.
The AJGA is committed to providing the best exposure for young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships. The Performance Based Entry process will continue to ensure the strongest fields possible for AJGA events while also providing opportunities for anyone who has earned the right to compete at this level.

The tournament is also part of the series of major events making up the criteria for the Carolinas Junior Player of the Year and the All-Carolinas Junior Team.

| TYGA Announcies Changes to the North Carolina Junior Golf Ranking System |
|
| 12/29/2008 11:51:14 AM |
|
In order to present a more accurate rankings system, the Tarheel Youth Golf Association will be altering the North Carolina junior rankings beginning January 1, 2009. Under thenew system, players will be ranked based on a combination of the total points earned in rankings events and tournament scoring differential for the ranking events. Under the current system, players are ranked on a total number of points earned, which can unfairly favor juniors who are able toplay in numerous events. "The junior rankings committee wants to identify the best players, not just the ones who play in the most rankings events" Director of Junior Golf Jason Cox said. Cox added,
"Last year we asked college coaches what was more important to them, scores or place in an event Half said they wanted to see scores, while the other half said how the player placed in the events. This new method will be based equally on tournament scores and how each player places in theevents. The rankings committee believes this system will be more accurate for all players."
Below is a list of additional changes that will go into effect the first of year.
Use pre-designated regional and national events set by the TYGA rankings committee.
Use all junior boys’ events conducted in NC with 25 or more boys playing from the longest yardage in that event. Use all junior girls’ events conducted in NC with 8 or more girls playing from the longest girls’ yardage in that event.
Award points in reverse order based on the size of field that finish each event with the overall winner receiving 5 bonus points for winning (example below).
To calculate rankings, tournament scoring differential (tournament stroke average – tournament course rating average) and total points earned each count for 50% of rankings calculation.
Must play in a minimum of five events to be ranked.
A player will be deleted from the rankings if they have more than 1 unjustified withdrawal after beginning a junior event.
All changes will go into effect January 1, 2009. The first update to show changes will be the February 2009 update. Total points changes will not be retroactive.
Point awarding example:
10 players in the event
1st place 10 points + 5 bonus points = 15 points
2nd place 9 points
3rd place 8 points
4th place 7 points
5th place 6 points
6th place 5 points
7th place 4 points
8th place 3 points
9th place 2 points
10th place 1 point

| Tournament Withdrawals |

October 23, 2006
Dear Junior Golfers and Junior Golf Supporters:
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA-men) and the National Golf Coaches Association
(NGCA-women) have recently been made aware of a growing concern in junior
golf regarding tournament withdrawals. Obviously, as there is in any type of golf competition,
withdrawal for legitimate illness, injury or personal emergency is understood. However,
it has come to our attention that the practice of withdrawing from events in order to
protect scoring average and/or national ranking is occurring.
One of the hallmarks of the game of golf is that it is a sport of honesty, integrity and discipline.
In no other sport are the participants asked to enforce the rules of the game themselves
and behave in a manner beyond reproach. College coaches throughout the country
evaluate prospective student-athletes based not only on their success in the classroom and
on the course, but also on their integrity. The ability to perform despite adversity is a characteristic
that all coaches place a very high premium on during the evaluation and recruiting
process. Especially noticeable are those players who “press on” during challenging times in
competition and especially those who shoot better scores after a poor round. Equally noticeable
to college coaches are those players who choose not to finish a competition. Final
decisions on who coaches believe will best measure up to the challenges of college golf
are made based on subtle differences. Through the cooperation and assistance of junior
golf tournament organizers and the Junior Golf Scoreboard our members are able to see
the results of all those who participate throughout the country and around the world.
On behalf of all college coaches, please accept our best wishes as you continue to play the
game!
Sincerely, Sincerely,
John Fields Kelley Hester

| How we assign players in their age groups |
|
| 3/29/2007 2:37:41 PM |
|
There have been some questions about how we assigned our players in each age groups.--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A player’s playing age is determined at the beginning of the National Junior Golf Club’s calendar year. Our calendar starts on June 1.------------------------------------
For example: If a player is 9 Years old and turns 10 on June 2, 2007 then they may play in the 8-9 age group until May 31, 2008. If the player wishes to move up to the 10-11 they may do so, but they must move up before their first tournament of the season.
With the approval of the Tour Director, a player may move up before their first tournament of each playing season to a new age group: Summer, Fall and Spring Tours.Once a player is move up they may not be move down. Regardless of age, the Tour Director reserves the right to move a player up in any age group to keep fair play.

All of the summer’s tours are done and what a summer it has been. All the summer tours have recorded record rounds with the last tour championship being played at Raintree on August 8th. Please see the result page for all of the scores and point champions. Congratulations to all of our winners. All winners will be recognized at the 2006 National Championship being played at Sea Trails Resort next weekend August 19-20. Player of the year will be announced for boys and girls along with future pro of the year and many other awards. This is my favorite time of year, with over 60 parent/junior teams starting out the weekend for the 2006 National Parent/Child Championship, to be played on the Jones course at Sea Trails. ON Saturday & Sunday 120 juniors will play our 1st NJGC National Junior Championship also on the Jones course. All of our juniors had to qualify for this national event by finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd during the spring tour or during the summer tours. Congratulations to all that made it and good luck next weekend. We are going to use live scoring at this event. And all age groups will be allowed caddies. The caddies bibs are in and they look great. Thanks to all of the parents and players for a great summer. Take a look at our fall schedule. I think it is best one we have had. We will finish out our Fall Tour Championship at the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island SC.

Hello Members, What a great first week we’ve had to start the 2006 Summer Tour. We we’re at Olde Sycamore on Tuesday June 13th, 2006 with a TYGA Ranked event, we had approximately eighty juniors participating. We finished up the week on Friday June 16th at Lake Hickory @ Catawba Springs in Hickory, NC with over fifty juniors. Unfortunately we had to cancel our scheduled event at Hillandale on June 14th in the Raleigh area due to tropical storm Alberto. We’re looking forward to a great summer finish at Sea Trails Resort in Sunset Beach on August 18th (Parent/Child Event) 19th & 20th (National Junior Championship). If you have received an invitation letter please call the office at (704) 829-7407 to register or if you all-ready know that you will not be attending. This will be a great week-end and we hope all our winners will make the effort to attend. Also during our first week we had several juniors who have had great success in national events this week, we had nine of our members qualifying for The Optimist Junior World Championship being held at the PGA National Resort in Palm Springs Florida on July 20th thru30th 2006. We had four of our members winning the district qualifier, these members we’re James Chapman of Gastonia, N.C.(15-16 Boys) Wil Brown of Statesville, N.C.(13-14 Boys) Victor Wiggins of Gastonia, N.C.(10-11 Boys) and Courtney Taylor of Gastonia, N.C. (15-18 Girls). These players received a paid exemption. Congratulations to you all. Several players also played in the US Kids World Qualifier at Rocky River Golf Club on Monday June 19th, 2006. National Junior Golf Club Members had great success at this event as well with Grayson Murray of Raleigh, N.C. winning the twelve year old division, Victor Wiggins of Gastonia, N.C. winning the eleven year old division, Kyle Austin of Mebane, N.C. winning the ten year old division and Keenan Huskey of Greenville, S.C. winning the nine year old division. Katelyn Dambaugh of Goose Creek S.C. won the girls eleven year old division. Also this spring National Junior Golf Club hosted an Optimist Qualifier at Rock Barn Golf and Spa, sending fifteen of our members to Catawba Country Club for the district qualifier with paid exemptions. This was made possible by the Noon Optimist Club of Gastonia, NC we would like this chance to thank them for their support of our junior golfers. National Junior Golf Club also held a Calloway World Junior Qualifier at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, NC on May 20th, 2006, sending three juniors to San Diego California later this summer to compete in the Callaway World Championship, We’d like to send our best wishes to Austin Inman from Castle Haynes, N.C. John Varol of Charlotte, NC and Parker Houston of Greensboro N.C. Look at all the success our members are having. It pays to play on the Tour. We look forward to seeing everyone on the golf courses this summer and also would like to welcome our new members to the club. We’d like to thank everyone for a great spring tour.
